Mark Pritchard, has written to the Chief Executive of the Highways Agency.
The MP has asked that new road surfaces are replaced with “quiet road surfaces”, citing those local residents who suffer from noise pollution from the M54.
The MP also asked that drainage “on and off the road” be improved to reduce “overflow flooding” in areas like Shifnal in his constituency.
The MP, who is a former Member of the Transport Select Committee, which oversees the work of the Highways Agency, said:
“Whilst we will all benefit from improvements to the M54, I hope the Highways Agency will keep road disruption and lane closures to a minimum. I also hope they will keep to their published timetables and also use this opportunity to reduce noise pollution and flooding risk for local residents and road users.”
