Mark Pritchard has met with Ram Gidoomal CBE, the chair of Traidcraft – a UK based Fairtrade organisation – to discuss its ongoing work in the developing world.
Founded in 1979, Traidcraft works for trade justice for growers and producers in the poorest countries around the world. It is a pioneer of the fair trade movement in the UK where it jointly founded the Fairtrade Foundation. Its activities include overseas development programmes, trade policy, campaigns and trade justice issues.
Mark Pritchard MP said, “I am pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Traidcraft to learn more about its work. Traidcraft does an excellent job working with fair trade suppliers across the world helping to make fair trade produce more widely available in the UK. I am pleased to give them my full support.”
