At the next full council meeting on 3rd March the Budget will be debated. Conservatives have put forward an alternative budget, and will be challenging Labour on their proposals to close the libraries or put the costs onto the parish councils.
Borough debt is spriralling out of control and stands at £262million (£3,605 for every household).
We are also very concerned that the Council proposes building 5,500 more houses than it actually needs (a total of 15,555 new houses), simply to house the West Midlands overspill. This number is unsustainable putting pressure on our infrastructure - schools, medical services etc. Job creation will need to be higher than the National expectation unless even more people are expected to commute to Birmingham.
We do support the 2% Social Care tax increase but do not agree with the extra on top of that proposed by the council.
Police & Crime Commissioner election
We support John Campion the Police and Crime Commissioner candidate for the West Midlands - he is someone who has a firm grasp of the issues affecting the Police Service and is keen to ensure that we have the best and most efficient service possible.
The election is on 5th May,'16
