Addressing a crowd of around 250 people, the MP said that plans by Telford and Wrekin Council to build up to four hundred new homes in the village, were “disproportionate and unsustainable”.
Villagers also heard from local Councillor Stephen Burrell and local residents who expressed concern about the scale and speed of the housing developments proposed and the impact on green and open spaces.
Mark Pritchard has written to Telford & Wrekin Council objecting to the loss of conservation area and open spaces and the number of houses proposed.
Mark said:
“I have objected to the plans as they stand but also called on the Borough Council to update the Edgmond Conservation Area Plan and support Edgmond Parish Council in developing a Local Neighbourhood Development Plan, which would give added protections to the village from over-development”.
