Yesterday following the local council elections Labour was returned to power. This is a very sad event.
Conservative had run the administration for the last four years during which time £17 million was saved and the council tax plumetted and was tthe lowest in the West Midlands. Conservatives had a large investment programme to regenerate the Borough towns and rebuild many schools and provide new sports and leisure facilities across the Borough.
Labour have offered no plan except to halt the building of the new Civic Office (which they cannot do) in the Southwater development, and scrap the proposed £35 million cuts to services (which is a lie anyway) - this was their total election campaign.
