Conservative Leader Andrew Eade said “During our 4 years of control we drove down council tax from what had been a 7% year-on-year increase to give our community the lowest unitary council tax in the entire Midlands and 4th lowest in England.”
“It now seems that Labour councillors favour a 3.5% hike and despite being elected to make decisions on our behalf have decided to duck the issue and fudge their favoured option by hiding behind a supposed consultation.”
“They must get off the fence as If they turn down the offer of this huge sum of money and freeze council tax it will clearly signal a return to the bad old days of tax and spend other people’s money at a time no one can afford.”
