Andrew Eade is furious at the decision of Telford & Wrekin Council to turn down a request to discuss the option of having a new Emergency Care Centre.
He says, " I cannot believe that the Labour Administration on Telford & Wrekin Council is about to roll over and not challenge the two options put forward by Future Fit for our future healthcare provision
The consultation which is about to start must give our community across Shropshire and beyond the choice of a third option to consider and the provision of an Emergency Care Centre which has proved so effective elsewhere.
This appalling decision and lack of fight has taken Telford & Wrekin Councillors a full week to resolve and has abandoned our current and future residents to an outmoded hospital configuration and with little say in shaping Shropshire's future.
It is little more than a gullible and shameful dereliction of duty by Telford & Wrekin Council and I can only wonder why they arrived at this weak-kneed decision.
However, this lack of backbone will not stop the fight to ensure that we establish a first rate and modern health provision for the county."
