Andrew Eade, former Conservative Leader of the Telford and Wrekin Borough Council says that under the Conservative Administration cash for the proposed new Civic Office would have come wholly from the sale of Malinslee House and would have allowed £2 million to be invested in the regeneration of Brookside, leaving £4 million to be spent elsewhere.
He says that concentrating the staff in three buildings would have allowed 17 other council sites to be sold, saving taxpayers £800,000 a year in overall running costs.
