A total of £7.6m in additional Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) funding for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin has been announced by the UK government.
Telford & Wrekin will receive an additional £3,676,157 whilst Shropshire will receive £3,947,035 to deliver specialist SEND education provision.
Mark Pritchard MP said:
I want every child in my constituency to have the chance to fulfil their potential, so it is vital that children with SEND and Alternative Provision (AP) get the support they need.
This week the Government has announced an extra £7.6 million of SEND funding for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin to deliver education that meets the needs of children with SEND.
This will provide specialist support for children with autism, learning difficulties, mobility difficulties, and other needs which mean they need extra help.
