Wellington Town Councillors were notified at last night’s meeting that the Parade Toilets, at Wellington Bus Station, which were opened in 2010, has received a very prestigious award. The Platinum Grade was one of only 23 awarded in the country and only two of those were Parish councils.
The category was the Local Authority Public Toilets – Full Time Attended Category and the attendants were further awarded Platinum Attendant of the Year awards. The toilets are managed by Axis Cleaning and Support Services on behalf of the council.
There were 1424 entrants and each toilet was visited unannounced by an authorised instector and grading ranged from Bronze to Platinum.
Mike Bone Managing Director of the Year Wards Ltd said the “the Platinum Loo of the Year Award recognises the highest ‘away from home’ toilet provision and the Wellington achievement is well deserved”.
Congratulations must go to the three excellent and dedicated staff.
