Telford and Wrekin Conservative Councillors have met the Secretary of State for Health, the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt MP, to put the case for retaining 24 hour Emergency and Urgent Care Services at the Princess Royal Hospital.
The meeting arranged by Wrekin MP Mark Pritchard took place on Tuesday (January 10th) and included Telford MP Lucy Allan, and the leaders of both Telford and Wrekin Council and Shropshire Council.
Conservative Group Leader Andrew Eade said “I am greatly encouraged by the Secretary of States response to our lobbying. He said the Future Fit process was ‘disappointing’ and any decision could be referred to him for independent review”
Conservative Group Deputy Leader Nigel Dugmore Added “The Secretary of State does not want to reduce A&E capacity, and will not compromise the clinical safety of Telford and Wrekin residents. Thanks to both Mark Pritchard for arranging the meeting and Lucy Allan’s contribution”.
